A beautiful antique 15ct yellow gold cross pendant set with seed pearls in a traditional Celtic-inspired design. Each arm of the cross is adorned with graduated pearls, while the circular frame features alternating creamy and warm-toned seed pearls. The piece has been tested as solid 15ct gold and retains a lovely antique patina, highlighting its age and craftsmanship.
15ct gold was commonly used in jewellery made in the United Kingdom and parts of the Commonwealth between 1854 and 1932. It was introduced when Britain formalised gold standards (alongside 9ct, 12ct and 18ct) and became popular during the Victorian and Edwardian eras. In 1932, 15ct and 12ct standards were discontinued and replaced with 14ct gold, making 15ct pieces collectable.
