Description

This limited edition mezzotint is number 47 of 90 produced by French artist Laurent Schkolnyk. It is hand signed and numbered by the artist.

Paper Size: 33 X 24.5cm

Laurent Schkolnyk, born in Paris in 1953, is a distinguished French artist currently based in Nantes. He honed his skills in drawing and etching at the Beaux-Arts School in Nantes, where he later deepened his expertise in mezzotint under the guidance of Professor Guimezanes.

Renowned for his mastery of three-color mezzotint, Schkolnyk meticulously crafts three separate plates, each printed in a primary colour. The translucent hues overlap to create a dynamic spectrum, spanning from pure whites to deep reds and velvety blacks. This interplay of colours brings an incredible richness to each piece, whether in monochrome or vibrant multi-colour compositions.

Schkolnyk’s work has been featured in solo exhibitions in cities such as Paris, Tokyo, San Francisco, and Seattle, and he has participated in numerous group exhibitions across France, the U.S., and Asia. His pieces captivate viewers with their depth and brilliance, showcasing his command of this complex technique.
