Antique Art Nouveau High Tea Sterling Silver Set (Teaspoons & Butter Knives) #3571-1

This beautiful set was made in the early 1900s, in Birmingham England.

It includes 6 teaspoons and 6 butter knives. This set appears to have been used for high tea, for tea and scones.

The teaspoons have beautifully ornate handles featuring a floral theme, true to the art nouveau era. They measure approximately 11cm and weigh about 10.5 grams each (for a total of 63.4 grams).

The butter knives are lovely and feature a mother-of-pearl-style acrylic handles. The blades are solid silver. The knives weigh in the range of 21-23 grams (for a total of 131 grams). They are about 16cm in total length where the blade is slightly more than half. These knives are also quite well balanced. Please note that one of the knives has a slightly bent blade (the orientation of the blade relatively to the handle is slightly twisted).

This set comes in a nice wooden case with lovely purple lining. The case has a fair bit of wear on the outside as you’d expect with a piece of that age, but is still structurally sound with a solid wood construction.
